In 2017, 7 billion bank cards were issued

On June 20th, the “Blue Book of China Bank Card Industry Development” issued by the China Banking Association showed that the scale of bank card issuance increased steadily in 2017. At the end of last year, the cumulative number of bank cards issued was 7.03 billion, and the number of newly issued cards was 660 million, an increase of 10.3% year-on-year. The growth rate was 3.2 percentage points lower than that of 2016. Among them, bank cards accumulated 4.71 billion live cards, and 530 million were added in the same year.


Asian Payments Alliance will adopt the UnionPay standard as the payment standard

At present, the Asian Payments Alliance APN has decided to adopt the UnionPay standard as a payment standard, under the APN Association. Seven countries and organizations began to use the UnionPay standard.
